Oh hey there! Long time, no talk!
Everyone good?
Good.
(If you said no just then, message me! Seriously.)
So like I told you on Friday, this weekend I was away in Franklin, TN at a women’s retreat, Refresh Summit. Refresh is put on by my good friend, Bobbi (along with a couple of other wonderful ladies) and focuses on God, fitness and fellowship. This retreat wasn’t necessarily a “blogger retreat” but there were bloggers there. We were encouraged to put away our phones and really be present during the activities which was refreshing in itself.
Throughout the three days, we ate meals together, had 5 fitness classes (I taught two bootcamps on Saturday), worshipped with a local artist, attended workshops and listened to a couple of speakers (Amia being one – please follow this lady). It was the perfect combination of praise and worship, inspirational talks and group fitness. Instead of doing a minute-by-minute replay (you KNOW I’m not one for full recaps), here’s everything I snapped over the weekend plus some takeaways. Enjoy!
Leaving the kids was rough (Clara cried for a while) but the hardest part was coming to grips with the fact that I had to wean Porter to be able to take this trip. His last time nursing was Friday morning – I just kept praying and rubbing his sweet head, thanking God for the opportunity. (FYI – My breasts have almost returned to normal but were VERY sore for the entire weekend. Porter has asked to “Nay nay” a couple of times but I’m staying strong.)
I drove over with my best friend, Tiffany and we shared a room together. We did that thing where you stay up for like 1,983 hours past your bedtime and just talk, then get quiet and then start talking and giggling again. I couldn’t ask for a better friend.
SWAG!! Thanks to The Good Bean, Vega, PB2, Skoop, Propel Water, Musselmans, Reebok and Safe Catch!
Another fun swag gift –> A Qalo ring! I normally don’t wear my wedding rings due to my job so this silicone one is perfect.
Workshop with Reina!
Post-Zumba with Amia!
What a treat! We don’t have Chipotle where I live so this was wonderful.
Thanks to Zevia for the lunchtime sips!
On Saturday night, we had a late-night 80’s Zumba Dance Party and were told to bring our best 80’s gear. No one specified the century (see previous pictures). I received quite a few laughs (pats self on back).
Brittany and her sweet bump.
These women…
Lunch on the road.
Henry had a championship soccer game at 4pm so we left Refresh a little early and raced home to see it. I managed to get there at halftime (pouring rain). His team lost but I’m so glad I got to see him play one last time.

That’s a wrap! Refresh Summit is one of those retreats that I’ll attend every chance I can get. I walk away so full and overflowing, a more patient mother, more loving wife. It’s a blessing to be involved!
QUESTION: Have you ever been to a women’s conference before?
splendid…lindsay
Was wishing I was there all weekend! Hope I can make it next year! Miss seeing you!
Sweet Life! I missed you so much, chica. I hope you can make it next year!
Omg refresh looks so amazing! I really wanted to go but I had back surgery that same week…. Sigh! Next time for sure. Love all the pics girl!
Was great to finally meet you! Glad you made it back for the soccer fun!
That looks like you had a great time! I wanted to go this year, but had a schedule conflict. I’ve been to a few women’s retreats/conferences in the past and I love them! It’s such a great time to pause and reflect.
What a fun conference! I love your 80’s costume, Chipotle, and Smoothie King!
