weekend scenes + it’s my birthday

Hola! 

I’m coming off of that weekend high.  Plus, today happens to be my BIRTHDAY!  I’m 33 years old.  I have only one thing planned (a special birthday workout with my Trackstars group…hello Burpee Ladder) and the rest of the day has been given to Travis and the kids to do whatever they come up with.  There’s been a lot of whispering going on around here lately so I’m excited to see what they’ve got up their sleeves.  A big surprise, a little surprise – I don’t care.  I just can’t wait to spend the day with my favorite people.

This past weekend held so many great things.  We went to the “beach”, had a special birthday workout for a friend, saw Shrek at the local performing arts theater and I also had the pleasure of being the lead pacer at an 8K race.  Good times!

Weekend Scenes

^Toes in the sand…and I only drove 20 minutes!  Locals – you have to head to Glenville Lake and check out the new beach!^

^Birthday workout for Casey!^

^Instead of running, I volunteered to be the lead pacer on my bike.  It was so much fun and I loved cheering on the lead runners (while leisurely riding beside them lol).^

^Shrek was wonderful…or so I heard.  Porter just wasn’t having it so I ended up leaving early and taking him home.  Henry and Clara loved it though!^

^Happy World Breastfeeding Week!  This is how he nurses these days – laying or sitting right on me and then leaning over…it’s hilarious.^

^Summer is dwindling…^

^After polling FB on the best recipe for pork tenderloin, I decided to go with the laziest simplest one.  Dark beer + pork tenderloin on low for 8 hours in the crockpot.  It turned out to be a great choice – TENDER as all get out!^
