top 10 best things from this weekend

How’d Monday get here so fast?!?!  (and who decided on these days of the week names?!?  Monday, Tuesday….seems made up to me.  Blueberaday.)

Isn’t it always the case – you blink and the weekend is gone.  POOF.  So quick.  I petition for change!  Everyone get up from your desks and march out of the office – you have my permission.  If you get fired, it isn’t due to the fact that you left…but more so that you were reading blogs while at work.

We had a spectacular weekend around here.  Just the right mix of productivity and slug-lazyness.

Top 10 Best Things From This Weekend:

10.  Getting to sleep in late on Sunday morning.

And by late, I mean 7:15.  I can vividly remember my teenage years of sleeping until 11 or 12pm.  Gone are the days.

9.  Playing with my Muscle Ropes on Saturday morning.

037

I had programmed for a larger group so when only 5 people showed, I quickly switched gears, got my battle ropes out of the van and created a fun strength/plyo circuit.  I LOVE using ropes for my groups – they’re so versatile and fairly easy to travel with!  Have you tried them yet??

8.  Making (my THIRD batch of) Honey Sriracha Chex Mix!

Seriously addicting.  If you love spicy things – MAKE THIS!

7.  Starting AND finishing not one but TWO movies!!

030

God’s Not Dead (a must-see) and Focus!  We usually start movies and never make it through in one sitting so watching two from start to finish was a FEAT!

6.  Exploring the new Parker Meadows Complex!

031

Locals – if you haven’t been out to the new Parker Meadows Complex, you have to go check it out.  Baseball fields, a basketball court, a (wonderful) playground, picnic shelters and a 1-mile walking loop.  I’m happy the county chose to upgrade that spot – I think it’ll be a great addition to our community!

5.  Ordering Pumpkin Spice K-Cups!!!

pumpkinspice

Woot woot.  While I DO think it’s a bit early for candy corn and Halloween things, I’m not above a good pumpkin spice coffee.  Bring on Fall!  (Get them here!)

4.  Deciding to sponsor Henry’s soccer team.

057

I can’t wait to see “MoveMore Fitness on the back of those little jerseys.

3.  Eating some delicious food.

058

Homemade peanut butter bars with dark chocolate frosting.

064

Pulled pork salad (with that honey sriracha chex mix as “croutons” + sriracha dressing!

2.  Celebrating the opening of Crossfit Kavod!

A new Crossfit box opened up in our town and I wanted to go out and support this new venture!  Katy and I had the grandmas watch our kids and we hit up the Opening Ceremony which included a workout, some BBQ, raffle prizes and a few friendly competitions.

We had a blast!  If you’re local and interested in getting into crossfit, check Kavod out!

1.  Finishing up all of my NASM Group Personal Training Specialist coursework!

YASSSSS!!  I’m officially done with several months of studying and I plan to sit down and take the test either today or tomorrow!  I’ve absolutely loved this coursework (which counts as continuing education towards my NASM CPT recert).  Group fitness is my passion and I’ll be so happy to have GPTS behind my name!

    1. lol…it’s not really a recipe (and it’s horribly horrible for you). I just use the Betty Crocker Peanut Butter cookie mix and add Ghirardeli chocolate chips to the mix. Instead of forming the dough into cookies, I press it into a 13×9 pan and cook for 12 minutes. Make the chocolate frosting recipe from the side of the Hershey’s Special Dark cocoa container. Easy peazy. :)

  1. Didn’t do much this weekend, as the hubby has been sick.

    Peanut butter bar recipe, please!!!

    Yoga.

You must share the recipe for the pb bars and frosting – pretty please :)

  3. That Crossfit box looks great! In case you didn’t know, Kavod means honor or respect in Hebrew.
