Confession: I’m kinda over these updates.
Which is odd because I totally LOVE talking about myself and showing you pictures of me in my underwear.
But when I start something, I don’t quit. Luckily there should only be about 5 more of these. (<-maybe less – Porter is measuring at 35 weeks!)
What is baby up to at 34 weeks?
(from BabyCenter.com)
- Baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long.
- His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he’s born — are filling him out, making him rounder.
- Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
How is mama feeling?
Fitness
I’m maintaining my fitness which is a feat in itself. I mostly just want to lay down all day long. Ha. Porter feels like he’s “engaged” which means his head and body are ready for birth – this also means there is SO much pressure put on my hips and joints. Totally normal – it just feels uncomfortable to do some of the things I was doing in the first and second trimesters (example: jumping jacks are now half-jacks.)
Here’s the rundown from last week:
- Monday: Bootcamp + 20 min. ArcTrainer
- Tuesday: 3 mile run <-for SURE the last one of this pregnancy – ooomph! So uncomfortable!
- Wednesday: Bootcamp
- Thursday: Zumba
- Friday: AM: Bootcamp, PM: 2 mile stroller walk
- Saturday: Aqua Aerobics (45 min.) with my sister
- Sunday: REST
Sleep
Pretty great!! Which is surprising.
Gender?
BOY! Porter Killian
Belly Button?
OUTTIE!
Rings?
Belly table.
Stretch Marks?
Still none!
Movement?
TONS!
Symptoms
- Nausea
- LOTS of contractions –> most nights I have an hour or two with braxton hicks contractions that make me take notice (like 5-6 an hour). Then I’ll go to bed and feel perfectly fine.
- Pressure. Lots of pressure down there.
Cravings
Same as last week! SOUR and SPICY. I bought some Sour Starburst jellybeans and can’t keep my hand out of the bag. Plus these Food Should Taste Good guacamole chips. I don’t actually think they taste like guac – more like a lime chip. Still pretty darn tasty!

QUESTION: Totally totally random. Can you play a musical instrument? <-nope. I played piano for like a year but it never really “took.”
splendid…lindsay
I played the trombone end baritone as a youngster. That was one sneaky band instructor to convince me to play those big instruments as a tiny girl.
NO STRETCH MARKS?! Say whattttttt!??! I am pretty sure every pregnant woman (or post pregnant) woman who reads/read this post….. Is cursing at you, LMFAO!! ;) Exercise definitely HELPS!
lol…i think it’s just hereditary. but I’ll take it!
I just had my first (and gained a ton of weight) and avoided stretch marks. My husband even comments that I would be the envy of all pregnant ladies. Had no morning sickness or any other nasty side effects really.
we used to play the piano and the clarinet, loved playing them, but then got into sports and never picked up an instrument again. we miss it
yum starburst jelly beans! im the ig picture heather tagged you in! haha and I played the piano for about 4 years and the viola (violin cousin) for 2. I can only play one song on the piano now :(
Hey Betty!! :)
You should come to Blend Retreat!!
I took piano lessons for 13 years – so I can definitely play that! :)
I also know how to play the trumpet and a little guitar. I grew up in a really musical family – there was always some form of it playing in our home!
You are SO close! Keep trucking a long and being awesome! I can’t wait to virtually meet the little one in a few weeks :)
I seriously cannot believe you are still working out the way you are! You go girl!
I love reading these :) and you look so so good and are doing so well! that run sounds like it must have been TOUGH, I cannot even fathom! As for instruments, I used to play saxaphone in middle school and HATED it. I was mortified and felt like it was a ‘boy’ instrument to play. fun fact ;)
You are getting so close!! YAY!!
I play the piano–not well, but I play! I also played the flute and violin.
You are so close!!!! I can’t wait to meet him! :). And I remember the pressure, totally makes exercise more difficult. I can’t believe you are still running!
I LOVE those jellybeans. I am not allowed to buy them because they are too good.
I can’t play an instrument, but I’ve always wanted to. I played the piano for awhile as a child, but, unfortunately, I gave it up for other activities. I’m seriously thinking about taking it up again as an adult.
You look great, lady, and I can’t believe you’re still so active. That’s amazing! I’m going to enjoy meeting your little bundle (and YOU!) at Blend!
You amaze me momma!!! I’m so ready for baby Porter to be here! I want him and Baby D to be friends… if we only lived closer!!!!! :)
amazing how active you still are!!! i hope i can maintain my [low] level of fitness throughout my next two months!!!!! i played guitar for a couple years when i was younger and then clarinet in middle and high school – i would never consider myself a musician of any sort though!! haha
I can play the piano.
And you look awesome! I had Trey at 38 weeks so it could be just around the corner! :)
SO FUNNY you ask as I just got out the clarinet and sax last night for the first time in EONS.
xoxo
You look amazing! That baby will be here before you know it. Nice work with keeping the workouts up. I used to play the viola and the clarinet, but gave it up in middle school.
You look incredible and I’m in awe of your workouts! Keep it up, mama!
I’m over my updates and being pregnant in general. That being said, I better stay pregnant for another 5 weeks! Ahhh it’s just around the corner for both of us, girl.
