Ya’ll. I took a nap yesterday. This was AFTER I drank some coffee. I’m just in sloth status over here…full on hibernation. Which means one thing, or a couple.
1) I didn’t have time to write you a post.
2) I’m turning into a newborn child who sleeps all day long.
3) I’m turning into my mother.
Due to the nap and my non-writing, I thought I’d share a post that I wrote for the lovely Katie a while back. And just so you’re not confused – this post is the first AND ONLY installment in the “How To” series. How super cute of me to not follow through.

I’m starting a new series called, “How To”. I’m going to teach you guys how to do things.
It’s going to be hilarious.
This first edition just happens to be for Katie’s blog…because, well, she taught me how to roast vegetables over the phone.
If there was such a thing as a “non-foodie”, I’d be her. I don’t actually fancy cooking. Or baking. Or being in the kitchen.
I know. I know. I know.
You “Yes I Want Cakers” are all foodies.
You can’t comprehend.
It just doesn’t appeal to me. Try as I might, I can’t summon up those feel good vibes when it comes to cooking. I like to blog about workouts and how I forget to put socks on my children.
I just didn’t inherit that “cooking gene”.
But I have a family. And a hungry belly. So I kinda sorta have to play kitchen sometimes.
Roasting vegetables might just be the easiest thing in the world. (eh, baking boxed brownies is pretty easy).
But you shouldn’t eat brownies everyday.
You should DEFINITELY roast veggies everyday.
- 1 head broccoli
- 1 sweet potato
- 10-12 brussel sprouts
- 2-3 T extra virgin olive oil
- 1 t sea salt
- 1 t cracked pepper
- Any other seasonings you like
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Wash and cut vegetables. Place cut vegetables in a large ziploc bag. Add 2-3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil to bag. Add salt and pepper to bag. Close bag and toss, coating the vegetables.
Place vegetables on cookie sheet. Roast in the oven for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway in between.
