Happy Friday!!  (I seem to be in a rut with my greetings – everything is always “happy”.  Hmm…)

Dull Friday!!!

I recently saw this healthy living survey on Paige’s site (recently as in 2 months ago) and just knew it would make the perfect Friday filler.  Fun, flirty and full of “f”’s.

**All “today” questions are being answered for Thursday – not today.  Confusing?  Not really.  Just pretend we’re in a hot tub time machine.  Do it!  Pretend that!*

Healthy Living Survey:

1. What did you eat for breakfast?

003

2% Plain Chobani cup with 1/2 scoop of vanilla fitmixer protein powder, blueberries, TJ’s Almond Flax Butter, raw almonds, and a sprinkling of granola.

2. How much water do you drink a day?

When nursing:  120 ounces

When not (so now): 100 ounces

033

Contigo = Best water bottle!!

3. What is your current favorite workout?

Currently, I’m injured.  So I’ve been doing low impact strength training and water aerobics.

015

But in general, I love Bootcamp classes!  Lots of variety and a mix of endurance, strength, power, agility, etc.  Bootcamp classes cover it all!

4. How many calories do you eat a day?

I don’t count calories anymore.  I go through phases where I think I’ll be ok and not whack out over counting, then I realize that it’s just not a good idea for me.

That being said, I *think* I get anywhere from 1,500 to 1,600 calories per day.  Sometimes more on the days that I teach doubles.

5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?

I basically snack all day, so the question should read, “What are your favorite foods?”

044

I snack on:

  • Chobani yogurt messes (Chobani with lots of add-ins/toppings)
  • Cereal with “protein milk”
  • Clementines
  • String Cheese and Almonds
  • Think Thin bars
  • fitmixer Protein Shake (powder mixed with unsweetened almond milk and ice)
  • Hummus and vegetables or Stacey’s pita chips
  • ProBar’s Fruition bars

And a lot of other things.  Snacking is my passion.  My passion, people!

6. What do you usually eat for lunch?

Umm…pick one of those things above and call it “Lunch #1”, then two hours later, I’ll have “Lunch #2”.

7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?

LEGS!!  Even though I confessed I don’t particularly LOVE my legs, they are STRONG!

032

I love doing lunges and squats and deadlifts and anything else that works these gams.

8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?

Smaller muscles (biceps, triceps, calves).  Just because I think doing isolated moves is a waste of time. Strength training is essential for a healthy and is recommended by many cardio vascular doctors in Vineland.

9. What are your “bad” food cravings?

Ha!  Bad as in naughty??   No food is off limits.  But I can go a little overboard with baked sweets for sure.

10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?

I used to be SO good about taking a daily multi.  Need to get back into that habit.

11. How often do you eat out?

Once every 2 weeks.  Maybe?  Not nearly enough to suit me, but I’m married to Mr. Frugalmeister.

12. Do you eat fast food?

No.  Bleck.

13. Who is your biggest supporter?

Travis.

078

In everything.

14. Do you have a gym membership?

Ha!  YES!

037

I work out at (and work at) the Franklin Health and Fitness Center!  By FAR, our town’s best gym!

15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

8-9.  Sleep might just be the highlight of my entire day.  And I say that in the best way possible. Sleep is simply wonderful!!

16. Do you have a “cheat” day?

No.  I hate that word.

17. Do you drink alcohol?

Not really.  Honestly, I’d rather eat my calories.

158

Although I have been known to imbibe.

18. Do you have a workout buddy?

Yup!  My sister, Katy.

102

She’s stronger than me though.

015

She always lets me come up with the workouts and participates without complaining (unless it’s burpees or something plyo).  I love her.

19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a Healthy Lifestyle?

I’ve really always been committed to a healthy lifestyle.  But the one thing that I’m proud of is giving up all soda (diet or non) 1 1/2 years ago!  A HUGE thing at the time, as I was drinking three Diet Rites a day!  Now, I can seriously say that I don’t miss it!

20. What was the last healthy thing you did?

Kissed my children goodnight.

012

And I consider that a VERY healthy thing.

  2. Love this…and totally “borrowed” for my post yesterday! Perfect timing because I needed something fun to start the weekend off right!

Hubs is totally rocking that sultry look…like, c’mere baby, I’ll let you eat Chobani off my chest! bow chicka wow wow! ;)

  3. I hate the idea of cheat meals or days, no no not a fan. You get a good amount of sleep, that is awesome! That’s something I really need to work on. And my favourite workouts are definitely spin and any HIIT workouts! I may need to do this survey soon!

  4. BEAUTIFUL! Loved getting to know you more Lindsay :) I also love your sense of humour :) Dull Friday!!!! I always catch my self saying “happy” at the beginning of my posts too! :) hehehe!

I love “protein milk” and cereal as a snack/meal too :)

  5. I’m glad to hear you get 8-9hrs of sleep a night. I always see that people say they get 5-6 and I can not wrap my mind around that.

I hate the phrase “cheat meal” too. It’s kind of funny because it’s supposed to help people stay on a “diet” otherwise, but I think it’s just developing an unhealthy mindset.

  6. This is a really fun survey. I’m all about snacks snacks snacks all day too, and count 2-3 of those as lunch. So sorry that you’re injured… my shin has been bothering me the last week or two, so I’m joining the low-impact club. :(

  7. What is the best thing that has changed since committing to a healthy lifestyle?

I’m a lot more confident in myself, and I love how I can actually think of myself as “fit” now since I’ve started working out. I was never really an athletic person before, but now I can give the athletes in my school a good run for their money. (no pun intended!) :D

  8. kind of a sensitive question, but does that calorie amount really work for you? I’m trying to get over a binging and restricting eating cycle and people have suggested that I eat around 2,000 a day and I know I’m no where near as active as you are, which makes me think 2,000 is way too much?

    1. oh Katie! Don’t ask me about calories. 2,000 is probably just fine. I’ve been focusing on getting MORE calories – sometimes I’m successful, sometimes I’m not. I think do what’s best for your body. I can say that I’m growing new muscle and I have plenty of energy, so I’m not starving my body at this calorie level.

  9. Last healthy thing you did?

I took a day off today to spend with my family and prep my house for my little guy’s 7th birthday – 7 on the 7th!! Now I suppose I should get off the computer and do stuff with those crazy guys!!

Your sister is adorable, just like you! I also love that picture of you imbibing – you look so happy and like you are having some fun! Love it!

  10. Love this! Thanks for sharing, Linds! Here are a few thoughts from me:

Yes, I eat out: maybe 1x a week or 1x every 2 weeks. Yes, I eat fast food (mainly on roadtrips) – but TRY to opt for healthier choices OR pack my own food and just get a vanilla cone from McDonald’s. ;) No, I don’t have a workout buddy – send Katy my way! ;) Some of the trainers work out together but I don’t for some reason – different styles, maybe? And I’ve always been solo, so maybe it’s time for me to switch it up. Husband is my ultimate support – and my mom – she thinks I can do or be ANYthing. ;)

    Have a great weekend!

  11. Great post! I’ll tell you about my breakfast. Since you asked. Sort of. :)

Every morning (I am so definitely a creature of habit) I have 1/3 c. of oat bran, 1/3 c. of egg whites, 1/2 T of chia seeds, and lots of cinnamon, cooked in the microwave (w/ water). After cooking I add either berries of some sort or a sliced banana, and top it all off with almond or peanut butter. There it is. Delicious. Every day. My husband think I’m nuts, but I just don’t get sick of it.

  12. I’m totally with you on the hating the word “cheat” – it’s right up there with “diet” for me. I consider this a lifestyle and my “lifestyle” allows me to make the right choices and balance all the things I eat!

  13. I don’t drink alcohol either. Mainly because I don’t really like it and I totally feel like it is a waste of calories. I don’t want to drop 1000 calories on a pina colada or a margarita. I would much rather eat the enchiladas and the chips and salsa. But that’s just me. Now every now and again I will crave a glass of wine and I usually go for a red that is very dry. But after 1 glass (if I even finish that) I am done. Thankfully, Keith is the exact same way. He probably doesnt drink a 12 pack in a entire year. And while he never craves wine every so often he will get a maragarita. We just aren’t drinkers..something most of us friends find laughable. Whatever. It saves us a TON of money when we go out to eat. Whose laughing now?! :)

  14. I love this idea!!! So awesome! Currently my favorite workout is CrossFit and my favorite WOD pretty changes daily! I just love CrossFit in general! Totally amazing!

  15. I’m going to steal this for my blog! Fun. But to answer one of them, I don’t do a cheat day either. I try to keep it healthy but if I want to eat something unhealthy, I don’t need to wait for a certain day to do it.

  16. oh… the last healthy thing I did… nursed my baby back to sleep and snuck downstairs for some “me” time at 6am (me time=writing my Friday blog)

  17. omg, your sister is so cute!! my little sister is turning 31 today. we. are. old. AND I HATE THE WORD CHEAT, TOO!! it’s so dumb. if you have a good relationship – with food, a person, etc. – you don’t need to cheat… just enjoy balance and have fun. jeesh! xoxo
