I’m writing this during naptime.
Or what has, in the last week or so, been renamed, “Kids who don’t nap but yell from their cribs to a Mama who needs a little break”-time.
Is it still taboo to give your kids Benadryl when they don’t need it? Yes? Dang.

Here’s a tip for all you young parents or parents-to-be: It’s completely ok to give your non-napping toddler a little time to him/herself. Even if they don’t sleep, they can rest their bodies and get a break from the t.v.-toy-movie-ridden day. And obviously, it gives you mommy’s a chance to catch your breath. Just don’t leave them in there for longer than 6 hours and you’re golden.
So anyway, in this nap-less house, I’ll attempt to write a post and announce the next theme for Tuesday Trainer.
We’re starting a new little series, called, “My Go-To”.
We talk all the time about our “go-to” snacks or our “go-to” shoes, so I thought I’d take that further and start a series where we highlight our “go-to” moves.

Basically, any move that get’s your heart pumping fast!
Here’s mine: Mountain Climbers!!
A few guidelines:
- ANYONE can participate – blogger or not.
- If you do blog, be sure to introduce yourself AND your blog.
- Feel free to give tips on proper execution and technique.
- DON’T include a number of reps. I’ll do that part.
- If your move isn’t correct, meaning improper form or instruction, I will not be able to feature it. Do your homework and get it right!!
- On Tuesday, grab the Tuesday Trainer button, to provide your readers with an easy link to the workout! Simply copy the text in my side bar and paste it into your HTML code.
**DEADLINE for submitting moves is Monday night, the 16th, at 8pm EST. Again, go here to learn how to upload your video!***
Time to let these monkeys out of their cages.

Yes? Dang.

QUESTION: What is your “Go-to” candy/candy bar?? Mine – Reese Cups – but only the miniature ones, which have the perfect balance of chocolate and peanut butter.
splendid…lindsay
Christin@purplebirdblog says:
Oooo I love the Reese’s shapes – you know, the original Easter egg which has now extended into a Christmas tree, a Halloween pumpkin, a Valentine’s Day heart… they should make a shape for every month (pondering a fireworks 4th of July shape!) because that is my favorite way to eat a Reese’s. :)
lindsaymwright says:
oh my gosh! Those are my favorite! Easter needs to get here!
STUFT Mama says:
Shnikies. That’s taboo? :) love the theme! :) can’t think of a go to candy. Too tired. :)
lindsay says:
oh ya, i am all about the bendryl. NO shame! Love the go-theme. This is fun! I need to think of mine. Happy napping….or trying.
Paige @ Running Around Normal says:
Haha – I like your perspective, Linds :)
Great theme for next week!
julie says:

lindsaymwright says:

chris D says:
Great post Lindsay!
@Julie – Did you just say you “Heart Burpees”? The red light at the mansion just went off… Defcon 4 people!! hahah
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says:
beautiful little kiddos you have there… even when they don’t nap. ;) love the new TT theme! i have the perfect move in mind already!
Lee says:
This is really random, but I really like Chocolate Parfait Nips.
Kiah says:
Oh man, you totally stole my move! I shall attempt to come up with a new one AND film it prior to Monday. Big plans, over here in my neck of the woods.
Heather @ Better With Veggies says:
Mountain Climbers definitely get my HR up! I have a couple of ideas for this one – love the theme!! The entire BodyRock Test from January also fits that bill (yes, I finally tried it and I am apparently out of shape! ;).
My go-to candy is Oreos, but mostly because that’s what I have in the house right now. I made oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies for my boss’s 40th birthday and bought WAY too many oreos. I’m hiding them from myself in the pantry so I don’t eat the whole thing at once. :)
Bonnie says:
The iTouch worked! Nice job. :) Fun to see you “in your element” too! I think I know what I’ll do for this one, although easily I would have raised my hand for burpees OR mtn. climbers – they’re the best! I’ll give something different a shot though.
And my go-to candy? Not really a chocolate bar but a handful of gummies OR licorice – the red & black bite sized kinds you can only get from certain Safeway’s in the States. Not up here, not just any kind of licorice, but those specifically! Love ’em. But I guess that doesn’t make it my go-to since I don’t have access to them…and that’s definitely a good thing. ;)
Katie says:
Oh my word, Clara is such a little doll. Watch out Travis..she’s going to be a heart breaker.
Also, boo for no napping. That’s how the last 8 months were at this house – she’s finally gotten it though. Hopefully it’s just a phase!
Tara Burner says:
I kill for Reese’s peanutbutter cups! :)
Callie @ Bennett Love says:
Love the picture and naptime tips! Go-to candy? Milk Duds!
Tina @ Best Body Fitness says:
Okay. I promise to do this one!!! And mountain climbers are so up on that list for me. So tough!
Lastly – totally agree on the kid napping thing. We all need our alone time during the day!
amber says:
My go to candy would be snickers/milkyway either one works. Thanks for the video I’m going to have to try that out. Look forward to following along.
Stephanie says:
My go-to candy is definitely reese cups! Those things are perfect. The full-sized ones, not the minis. I also like swedish berries.
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says:
DONE. I’m finally going to partake… I have a plan. ;)
my go-to candy? ugghhh, if I could eat Snickers every day of my life, I’d be the happiest girl in the whole wide world.
lindsaymwright says:
ah Snickers…forgot about those!
Lindsay @ In Sweetness and In Health says:
Reese’s cups are totally my go-to candy! That chocolate and peanut butter combo is a winner :D.
lindsaymwright says:
We’re basically twins. ;)
