We all know the rules.

**Park in the next town over when you go to the grocery store so you can get extra steps in.

**Close the kitchen at 6pm and don’t eat again until noon the next day.  Only 15 grams of carbs when you do eventually eat.

And the last one –> NEVER GO TO THE STORE HUNGRY.

Welp, I’m a rebel I guess as I don’t ascribe to ANY of those rules.  I sometimes take the “Expectant Mother” parking spot just because it’s closer.  I eat right up until bedtime; sometimes swallowing chocolate chips as my head hits the pillow.  I must eat something immediately upon waking -> beeline to the kitchen, do not pass GO.  Annnnnd I also go to the grocery store at the most inconvenient, most starving of times   I am that person who grabs a snack and eats it WHILE walking up and down the aisles (don’t worry – I always pay!!  And then the clerk has to throw out the empty food bag – please tell me I’m not alone in this).  I just get HANGRY and the only cure is more cowbell food.

Like this last time.

  1. I think I had a similar question to others but I eat healthy and portion controlled 80-90% of the time, strength train, and cannot lose any inches! (I measure by clothes!). I love these posts because they help me take the pressure off myself about eating “perfect,” but at the same time, it doesn’t seem to have the same effect on me (losing body fat, being toned). I guess my question is “why?” Haha but I don’t know if that’s something anyone can know the answer to?

  2. hahah… you always make me laugh. When I’m hangry… A big bowl of cereal like the “naughty stuff”, cinnamon toast crunch to be exact OR a big sub with you know that bad “carby” bread ;)

  3. Lindsay, where do you get your coupons? For example…for those Enlightened bars. Do you go to a specific website for your coupons?

P.S. Your grocery haul looked delicious. I love all the “treat” like food. We ALL need those for the pleasure of taste and emotional health. The “healthy” foods are important too…but everything in moderation should include treat foods, too.

      1. Hello Lindsay,
Great! Thank you for these tips! I’ll check out Southern Savers and also Mambosprouts.com, too (I already check out coupons.com). Again, thanks for these suggestions!

  4. I’m with Stacey, how do you stay so lean? I LOVE to eat peanut butter and jelly, heavy on the peanut butter! I also love cheese, in any way, shape, or form!

    1. I just practice MODERATION and CONSISTENCY. I eat all of those foods along with plenty of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. Nothing is off limits but I don’t binge. Consistent with workouts helps too. I’ll write a post about it!

  5. How do you do it?? How do you stay so lean and eat that stuff?

Hangry food for me?? Energy balls (oats, peanut butter, honey, protein powder). Gets me every time. I keel them in the freezer at all times. The kids eat them for breakfast or snack daily!
