Howdy, hey and how do ya do!!
This past weekend was pretty wonderful. Not only did I get to run for fun with some friends but I had a MASSAGE too! Any weekend that includes a massage is a winner in my book – I really should invest in a monthly sports massage. I walk out of there just feeling….ahhhhhh.
I also ran in the Color Run in Asheville on Saturday morning! It was a BLAST! If you’ve never done a color run before, you totally should. (Read below for some shenanigans that occurred. ) We wrapped everything up with a calm and relaxing day yesterday. After church, we plopped down on the couch and I don’t think I took more than 50 steps for the rest of the day (until we went to Ultimate Frisbee then I ran a lot). What Sundays are made for, right.
Now I’m ready to tackle the week ahead!

I had the Protein Oatmeal for breakfast on Friday! Two thumbs up – thanks General Mills!
All we do at the pool is swim and snack, swim and snack.
See.

Katy and I drove over to Asheville in her MIL’s little Mazda Miada. SO much fun to drive with the top down!
Color Run tip -> if you run with your phone, put it in a plastic sandwich baggie. You can still take pictures but it’ll be protected.
I asked this random girl to take our picture and later found she photobombed (what’s the word for what she did??) my camera roll. Hi, random girl!!!
So yeah, Katy and I ran both heats of the Color Run (the 7:45 and the 8:30). No regrets. It was fun. 6.2 miles total for the day.
Locals –> I go to Cheryl Hanson at 7 Gems Spa and she is phenomenal. Her technique is more of a sports massage (trigger points, myofascial release) so if that’s not your thing, tell her! She can accommodate you. I LOVE a deep tissue massage so she’s right up my alley.
After watching a documentary on competitive eating, Henry insisted on his own competition and challenged Travis to an eat-off. He picked a nutrition bar as the food (lol) and they went head-to-head. It was hilarious. Travis won.
Then we ate actual dinner and he put on his Captain America suit and ate pizza as fast as he could.
THEN…I was treated to an after-dinner show.
Crossfit Games…all weekend long.
What a fun run! I loved your snaps of the event!
I’m doing the color run in Grand Rapids, MI this coming weekend! Thanks for the “preview,” looks like a ton of fun and I have a better idea of what to expect.
You gals are all too cute! Glad you had a blast with the color run!
