Didn’t the long weekend feel GREAT!!?! Every weekend should have at least 3 or 4 days in it – that’s my professional opinion. Take it or leave it.
After yet another track workout, we actually got A LOT done on the house.
The kitchen backsplash is now TILED (thanks Katy and Catherine!) and the entire kitchen is painted (thanks Katy and Maddy!). My dad, Travis and his dad were able to tear out all of the old baseboards in the house (the prior owners installed central air and heat, so the copper piping baseboards were superfluous). I’ll try to round up my pictures and give you guys look at all of the changes sometime this week or next! As of now, the projected move-in date is May 2016.
So anyway…Tuesday Trainer.

The theme for this week is EXERCISE PROGRESSIONS!
I chose this theme because, as I teach more and more classes where the fitness levels are SO diverse, a systematic progression from Beginner to Advanced is NEEDED. In Bootcamp, the fitness levels can range from post-surgery rehab clients to high performance athletes and as a teacher, I have to cater to EVERYONE. And as you’ll see below, it’s totally possible.
Fitness is about movement. As long as you’re moving, you’re good. That should always be the goal – everyone just MOVE. I think that when we make everything HEIGHTENED and ADVANCED, we segregate a HUGE population of beginners. That’s not ok. Fitness is about movement. Fitness is for everyone.
end Trainer rant. Check out this Progression Guide. No segregation allowed on TT!

Happy Tuesday!
QUESTION: In what category would you put yourself when it comes to exercise? Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced??
splendid…lindsay
Love this post! I love the focus on progressions, such great advice! Thanks for taking the time to put this together :)
I’m training my very first client on Thursday!! I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been teaching group ex for four years- but know that this will be just a LITTLE different. I’m totally copying your very useful chart!
So glad to see so many of my favorite ladies on this TT. I should add ‘make TT video” to my 32 while 32 list. I’m sure something on that list isn’t as important and could be taken off…
YAY!!! I’m so excited for you!
WOOHOO TT! I vote we have a little bit more time between the theme and the due date.. since there is a month between now.. but you could just text me the theme :) xoxo
Pretty backsplash!! Looking forward to checking out the bloggers who submitted videos. What a neat post!
I think it really depends on the exercise and how long it’s been since I’ve done them consistently. I used to consider myself intermediate when it came to yoga but after taking several months off due to health problems, I’m pretty sure I’m back to the beginner level…:(
Love that you’re still going to run TT and thrilled that it’s just once a month. More submissions (more time to make them pretty!) and more time for you to focus on other loves!
As far as exercise level, for me, it depends on the exercise. For most things I’m Intermediate, but for a few, I’m Advanced. Always trying to improve, though!
I’ll just leave the one I uploaded here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urgek3BuYLo&feature=g-upl
Ahh! I submitted one, did it not work?! I actually FILMED two, and then saw there was a double on there, so I filmed another one. Maybe it just wasn’t good enough to make the cut. ;-)
You have a lot of good ones there! Loved this theme.
Yep. You probably weren’t good enough…….
she wasn’t.
Yeah TT!!! Those single-leg plyo squats? pheeeewww! Great videos, trainers! :)
I loooovelovelove your quote about “Fitness is for everyone.” Yes! Any movement, and then progress.
yea heather for her first Tuesday trainer! loved it. Pinned it! happy house fixing. Still think you and travis need to come to Austin or the ACL festival. Just sayin
It’s funny because fitness-wise I’m probably on the advanced end of things, but my coordination lowers me down a level sometimes (especially when it comes to plyos). If I focus hard I’m usually much better, but enjoying myself a little less because I don’t really feel as “free”. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of them someday — just need to keep practicing! :)
Im a beginner
Ive been at this for 19 years and still am a learning beginner :-)
