I despise complainer-pants people.
They make me want to scream, “Suck it UP!”
“Stop whining!”
“You’re lucky to be alive.”
(we all are – lucky to be alive.)
As lucky as I am and as much as I hate complaining, I simply must do it today.
Because we’re leaving Colorado.
Ending this fairytale vacation. Heading back to “normal”.
And I’m super sick.
Like all I did yesterday was lay in bed, watch kiddie movies and whine to Travis.
Laying around = NOT me. (Whining to T, eh. That’s pretty standard.)
Oh..and it rained all day long…still is.
So on this unremarkable (remarkable) Saturday, I choose to whine.
Just a bit.
I’ll get over it.
Pray for us on the road today! We should make it into Franklin around 7pm, tomorrow night.
Come help us unpack.
No whining though.
It’s SO unbecoming.
QUESTION: When was the last time you were sick? Any cures for a sore throat?
splendid…lindsay
Gosh! I can’t remember the last time I got sick {knocking on wood}. But a vacation coming to an end would make me feel pretty sick.
For sore throat, I would just say some good ol’ honey and lemon. Hope you feel better soon.
It’s been a while since I was sick (about 8 months I think), but my go-to cure has been miso soup. Just makes me feel better, mental or not. :)
Im the caretaker–not the sicker.
for a longtime anyway.
(knock on everything)
hope youre waking and feeling BETTER.
This tea is amazing: http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com/throatcoat
Feel better!!!
I’m so sorry you are sick!! I always make my hubby hot tea with lemon and honey in it, and it always helps him! Hope you are feeling better soon friend!
I wish I could give you a big hug. :(
I would be whining and complaining all over the place if I had to leave Colorado after being there for a month. I’m a big baby after leaving from a 5 day trip!
I hope that you are feeling better today- maybe your body just needed some rest. At least you can think back on the amazing feat that you pulled off in Boulder (Blend) and all of the wonderful memories that go along with it- and smile. :)
xoxo
Although you and the kiddo are both sick, you both look adorable in that post all cuddled together. Safe travels, and I can’t wait to meet you again someday!
Hey! I have the best cure for a sore throat:
Sore Throat Remedy (makes 1 serving)
1 tbsp honey (raw if you can find it)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (raw if you can find it)
8 oz warm water
Mix together and sip. Drink as many as it takes…usually it should only be about two.
I hope the drive is going well! Feel better!
Hey Lindsay — I would be complaining too. Hope you feel better! I get sore throats ALL the time (because I am a freak and have night terrors that cause me to scream in my sleep sometimes … yikes). I swear by tea + honey. Any kind of tea will do. I saw somebody mentioned throat coat, and I bet that will work wonders. I like Tazo Zen — for everything.
:( I hope you feel better soon!!
A Christian friend and mentor once said to me, “You can have a pity party … just don’t stay there for too long.” I think it’s perfectly OK to be sad, frustrated, etc … but then we need to pray, give it over to God, and try to move on! :)
Oh no! I hope you feel better and you make it home safe and sound…Happy Mother’s Day!!..(well tomorrow!)
:( that your trip has come to an end!!! But wishing you a safe journey back home. As for the sore throat…I always drink hot lemon water with sliced ginger. And honey (especially the manuka variety) is meant to have antibacterial properties and helps infections…plus it tastes yummy!
Sorry to hear that you have to leave CO- you obviously love it there. Hope you feel better. My Mom always said to gargle with warm salt water.
Safe travels!!!
Hi Lindsay. Sorry to hear about the throat…try steaming in the bathroom sink,
as hot as a tap water temp. can go…underneath a turkish towel (my Mom’s starter recipe for sore throat cures)…along with really steamy hot green tea with agave(honey) and either (1) hot and sour soup or (2) the panacea of all cures: hot chicken noodle soup! tough to leave colorado, I’m sure. My hubby and I are off to Aspen at the end of the month for business and I can’t wait! Feel better soon and Happy Mother’s day!
Oh no! Sorry to hear you’re sick. I definitely think you’re allowed to whine sometimes. Just don’t make it a habit.. ;)
Anyway, for sore throats I highly recommend “Throat Coat” tea by Traditional Medicinals. It got me through high school and college when I was singing on a daily basis.
i’m with you on the complaining thing, but sometimes it’s just necessary to let it all out. it sounds like you guys had such a great time in Colorado… sheesh it seems like it went by SO fast! praying for safe travels and for you to feel better SOON!
Hi Lindsay, sorry to hear you are sick.
I was battling a sore throat as well the past couple of days, my secret weapon though is, aside from gargling with warm salt water (but I tend to get lazy doing that) is Zinc picolinate. I read it somewhere years ago that is helps fight sore throat, and it works every time!
Safe travels
oh boo! get better. I bet i can help. I will take care of you. COme to austin instead.
xxoo
You must have sent your sickness to me – I woke up with the worst sore throat and headache today! I’m sorry you have to leave CO – that time went by so so fast!
praying for health and safe travels!!
