You’re back???

I had my doubts after yesterday’s post.

Lately, it has just been so much easier to sit down and “brain vomit” into these posts, rather than think of something clever or life changing to say.  It a) saves me time and b) relieves Travis’ ears from having to listen to my rambles.

Feeling gipped?

How about this – 3 Significant, Life Altering Statements:

(with about 3 seconds of thought put behind them.)

1.)  You’ll never be completely satisfied.

Uh, not satisfied with your choice of outfit, Mom.

You can be mostly satisfied or “almost getting there”, but deep down, there will always be something nagging you.  Dragging you forward to change.  To adapt and to be better.  <-this is a good thing, I think.

2.)  You probably have cellulite in places you can’t see.

Your husband won’t tell you this. Your friends will deny it.  But it’s there.  Dimply and cottage cheese like.  And that’s ok.  Try to be satisfied with it.  (see #1)

and lastly 3.)  It doesn’t make a bit of difference.

The cellulite, the job you won’t get, the fact that you’ll never be one of “those girls”.  In the grand scheme of life, it doesn’t matter.  God still loves you JUST AS YOU ARE.  Imperfect.  A sinner.  A selfish braggart.  He loves all of that.  That’s a good God right there! One I can vest my future in!

There.  Happy?

Let’s move on to Tuesday Trainer.

lindsayslist.co-tuesday_trainer
I thought long and hard about this week’s theme.  Like for real – maybe 30 seconds.  Actually, I was defeating the elliptical machine on Monday night, when I came across a move in Oxygen Magazine (<-get a subscription!)

The Move?  REPTILES (video below)

Which led to the theme for this week.  Animalistic.  Exercises that are named after creatures.  Think Cobra or Reptile.  Basically, any move that resembles the moves/nature of an animal.

*If you’re at a loss as to what move to do, just rename any move you want to do.  Like call a squat, “Gorilla Dips” or something.  This might require some ingenuity (and Google searching) on your part!*

Here’s my move:  REPTILES

A few guidelines:

  • ANYONE can participate – blogger or not.
  • If you do blog, be sure to introduce yourself AND your blog.
  • Feel free to give tips on proper execution and technique.
  • DON’T include a number of reps. I’ll do that part.
  • If your move isn’t correct, meaning improper form or instruction, I will not be able to feature it. Do your homework and get it right!!
  • On Tuesday, grab the Tuesday Trainer button, to provide your readers with an easy link to the workout! Simply copy the text in my side bar and paste it into your HTML code.

**DEADLINE for submitting moves is Monday night, the 20th, at 8pm EST. Again, go here to learn how to upload your video!**

QUESTION:  I gave you THREE little pearls of knowledge.  Your turn.  In 3 sentences or less – something I need to know. An epiphany you had.

*Last day to enter the Dirty Girl Mud Run Giveaway!  Get over there!*

  1. Despite your evil efforts, I will continue to live comfortably in denial of any cellulite that may be living on m body. My pearl of wisom? Everything is perfect… always. No need to worry. xo

  2. I would just like to say that I love everything about your posts. Whether you don’t put any thought behind it or not- you’re brilliant. :) Hey, hey…reptiles. :) The boys and I will have fun this week. :)

  3. I’m so distracted… LOOK AT YOUR TRICEPS!! Amazing!!
That move looks awesome- and I’ve never heard of it! When you said Supermans, I think of lying on the floor (on your belly) and raising your arms and legs off the ground.
Also- I love your thoughts- especially #1. I have to remind myself of that often!

  4. What a fun theme! I feel like every week i tell you I’m going to get a video to you, then I don’t, so I’m not going to say it this week and hope that because I didn’t jinx myself it’ll happen, but I’m not saying it will happen, see what I’m saying :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

  5. Oh man, I LOVE your thoughts for the day!! It’s hard for me to remember that this life isn’t totally about being comfortable and satisfied, and I just have to live every day knowing that, and striving to do what I’m called to…whether I’m comfortable with it or not!

Also this theme is hilariously awesome. And I’m feeling organized this week (so far!) so I’m 99% sure I’ll get a video on for TT. Love youuu. :-)

  7. I LOVE those!!! and it’s cool to cross under your body to opposite elbow and also to do them with a push up. when you go down in a push up you then bring your knee to your elbow!! HARD!!! one of these days I’ll get enough courage to post a video! :)

  8. My pearl of wisdom for the week has been: Happiness comes from appreciating what the Lord has blessed you with, and not taking it for granted. Society tells you you need more to be happy. God tells you he will supply all your needs according to his riches and glory. :)

  9. Deep thoughts – I love it! Here’s mine for today: We are made to give – whether that is buying someone gas when they need it or just acknowledging them with a smile and a kind work – we find joy in giving. I am not always a giving person and it’s a darn good thing that God still loves me and doesn’t give up on me. :)

  10. Great TT theme! Love that move that you did, which is of course similar to reptile push ups…Going to be hard to come up with something unique without just calling them “jungle squats,” but I’ll do what I can! ;) Good challenge.

Not much for the words today except realizing this as I’ve looked ahead to the next jam-packed couple of days: people are more important than my workouts. Been wanting to get a second 10 miler in this week but we have family visiting and my blocks of time to do it (unless I wake up at 6 and go in the dark; always a possibility I guess!) are too short to fit it in with clients and in preparation for our weekend fundraiser coming up. Gotta let that go – people matter more. :)

With that being said, off to do a short high intensity workout with some KBs to get my blood flowing before the day begins! Love you Linds!

    1. You and I are twins, Bon! I feel the SAME way sometime – trying to balance my passions with my families needs. I know that God gifted us with this passion for exercise – just have to remember all the OTHER gifts He gives as well, and make time for those!
