**Have you entered my Green Mountain Coffee giveaway yet??  You should!  Ends tonight at midnight**

I hope that everyone of you had a great time with family and food yesterday!   If you missed the recap of our hike, you should go to yesterday’s post. My sister’s pretty dang proud of that toe touch!  It’s ok to be jealous.

Like I said, my day started off with a 4.5 mile hike and ended with some Paula Deen “Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake.”  Healthy living at it’s finest!  I actually woke up STARVING this morning!  My grumbling stomach made me smile – hello, Thanksgiving metabolism boost!  I’m proud to say that I thoroughly savored every bite yesterday, a huge change from the past.  I’ll say it again: Food is a blessing!

Since we were all elbow deep in mashed potatoes and gravy yesterday, I skipped posting Thursday’s Theme.  So you get it today.

The theme for this week’s Tuesday Trainer is BOSU/Stability Ball exercises!!  Alternate title: Controlled Instability!

If you don’t have a BOSU or stability ball at home, simply submit a move that calls on your Stabilizer muscles.  Think One Legged Bicep Curl or a One Legged Squat or Deadlift.  We’re working on our balance, a CRITICAL and PRIMARY step to all fitness training.  If your internal stabilizers are undertrained, you’re more prone to injury and faulty movement patterns.

Here’s my BOSU move (and a little tour of our group fitness room):

Katy and I filmed my BOSU move on Wednesday morning.  All classes were cancelled so we had the room to ourselves.  I put her through a Bootcamp class, complete with ropes, Kettlebells, BOSU work and some step.  I think she hates me.

A little taste of the workout.

Back to Tuesday Trainer.  I get the feeling that readers might think that this is an exclusive club or something.  That’s definitely NOT the case.  ANYONE can participate and submit a move!!  PLEASE DO!  The more moves we have, the more dynamic of a workout I can create!

A few guidelines on submitting your move:

  • Make sure to introduce yourself AND your blog!
  • Feel free to give tips on proper execution and technique.
  • DON’T include a number of reps. I’ll do that part.
  • If your move isn’t correct, meaning improper form or instruction, I will not be able to feature it. Do your homework and get it right!!
  • On Tuesday, grab the Tuesday Trainer button, to provide your readers with an easy link to the workout! Simply copy the text in my side bar and paste it into your HTML code.

**DEADLINE for submitting moves is Monday night, the 28th, at 8pm EST. Again, go here to learn how to upload your video!***

We’re off for a stroller run and grocery shopping.  Tip: Today is THE best day to buy a turkey!  You know how they mark down Halloween candy on November 1st?  They do the same with turkeys today.  Go get one!

QUESTIONS:  How did you spend your day yesterday?  Best food item?  Did you go Black Friday shopping?  Me?  Never have.  I’m interested though – I’ve always chosen sleep over shopping.  Maybe next year.  Is it really worth it?

  1. I love BOSUs!!! I actually registered for one for my wedding :) Didn’t get it though…maybe this Christmas!

I didn’t go shopping, I really have no desire to be out around crazy people, especially when there really isn’t anything I need to get. Maybe when I have kids and NEED to get the latest toy or something I might venture out!

  2. I agree on the whole sleeping in part. I am trying to avoid all shopping centers today:) I made a pumpkin cheesecake yesterday that was a huge hit. I love the idea of a Thanksgiving morning hike. I am definitely going to try and incorporate one next year.

  3. I love your new header!!

We spent our day yesterday going to THREE different Thanksgiving meals. I ate at one of them and sampled desserts at the last two. It was a great day filled with family, friends, and good food. I’m not a Black Friday shopper. Last year I went for the first time with my MIL and SIL, and it was quite the experience! It’s fun to go and see everyone go crazy and get some good deals, but I definitely don’t feel like I need to go every year.

  4. woop woop for the bosu! good week! i wish there was a good sneaky spot for me to film myself at the gym but there’s not and i’m not looking like the creep filming herself on her iphone haha or else i would do it. hmm let’s see if i can figure something out!

  5. I have not used a bosu in so long, when I used to take bootcamp classes , we used them a lot!

Happy Friday love! Hope you find a deal on a turkey ; ) I never knew that!

    xoxo <3
