The outpouring of support and prayers on my last post made me SO glad. And yet, my heart still breaks for these people! Thank you for joining me in praying for North Korea! And if you know of any organizations or charities that could help, please let me know – and I’ll help spread the word!
To brighten things up a bit, I’ll show you what the Wright Family Clan has been up to today. The WNC Outdoorathlon!!
After working out, coffee and showers, we headed over to this local festival, put on by my friend, Cory.
The WNC Outdoorathlon is a two-day event, featuring music, food, a rock climbing wall, kayak and fly fishing demos, and ultimate frisbee. Today was the 5k race, tomorrow is the triathlon (the one in which I’ll be
making a fool of myself participating).
There were TONS of vendors, handing out coupons, free samples and information. I even managed to win a free pair of Smartwools!! My best Janae impersonation.
We found the coolest thing too! A Sylvan Sport Go camper!
Lightweight (you can tow it with any vehicle – even an ATV!), Sleeps up to 4 people, and can be converted into a trailer for your bikes/kayaks! I WANT ONE!!
Henry…trying to decide whether or not he has $8,000 in his Robot Bank.
After perusing the vendors and filling EVERY.LAST.RAFFLE.ENTRY that we could find, it was time for lunch.
Pulled Pork nachos! Best $4 I ever spent!
While we were eating, we listened to a local band play: The UnAwareWulves. They were AWESOME!! Swing jazzish. I’ll be at the head of the line when they put out their first album!
The Outdoorathlon continues until 8pm tonight and from noon-5 tomorrow! If you’re local, you must go check it out. We must support cool events like these that promote a healthy, active lifestyle and showcase local businesses!
Now we’re home – all tuckered out. The couch and the Office are SCREAMING my name – must rest up before tomorrow’s big event!
