**LAST DAY to enter the Erin Baker’s GIVEAWAY!!  Winner will be announced tomorrow!**

Glad you all enjoyed my cold coffee rambles.  Rambly posts are SO easy to write – I should do them more often.

Both pics were taken exactly ONE YEAR AGO.  And yes, Henry is eating Chex Mix with chopsticks.

Before I get into the theme for this week, I feel like I should give you guys a little update on what’s current in my life.  List style, of course.

HOME – hmmm…I haven’t really BEEN home a lot lately, so it’s a disaster.  But my kids are happy and learning new things, my husband is well fed, and we have clean clothes.  I actually just made this amazing Turkey Couscous Chili that I failed to take pictures of.  It’s ok.  Just means I’ll have to make it again.

JOB – I’m currently teaching Aqua Power three times a week and Step Aerobics once.  I’m subbing for Bootcamp and Core Conditioning (so whenever they need me).  I like this schedule, because it gives me a lot of flexibility and keeps my focus on my primary job: being a momma.

I’ll start training weight loss clients in January when we do our next Weight Loss Challenge at the gym.  I’m excited about that!

WORKOUTS – I get to workout WHILE I teach, so that’s awesome.  But I’m severely lacking in the strength training department.  Monday, I actually heavy lifted for the first time in probably 3 weeks!  I’m still sore.  Daily:  I walk/run with the kids and usually take or teach one class.

PLAY –  In case you don’t know, I’m Ms. Gulch in our local theater’s production of Wizard of Oz.  She’s the wicked lady who takes Toto on her bike.  I get to FLY (see here)!  I’m also a Crow (with Travis) and an Emerald City citizen.

The show opens NEXT THURSDAY!!  We’re in technical rehearsals now, meaning we’re mic’d and doing the show how it will be, minus costumes.  On Sunday, we start Dress Rehearsals.  I tried my Gulch outfit on last night – I’m haggard.  On purpose….which differs from my everyday, unintentional haggard look.

SIDE NOTE: My sister said I looked super “special” in my Yoga video.  Like she was embarrassed that I was her sister.  I’ll admit, I didn’t and never brush my hair, but I didn’t think it was THAT bad?!

CHURCH –  Great, as always!  I’m in charge of our children’s Christmas music program, so as soon as the play is over, I’ve got to get cracking on music selections.  This makes me happy.  I love this time of year!

I’m still reading Crazy Love (it’s amazing!) and my Bible.  But I always feel like I could devote more time to God.  I think that will always be the case – aren’t we all battling our flesh?!  I’m thankful for God’s GRACE!!

I think that’s got you up-to-date.  Oh, except to say, that the 5k race I’m hosting is THIS Saturday, so that’s consuming my time right now too!  There aren’t enough hours in the day!  Or enough coffee.

If you’re new to Tuesday Trainer, it’s basically a way for you guys to have a stake in creating an awesome workout.

You take the theme and film yourself completing a move that falls within the theme. With the submitted moves, I’ll create a workout. Depending on the number of submitted moves, I may or may not be able to USE every single one in the workout.  Don’t worry!  I will still feature them at the bottom, with a link to your site.  Go here for details on how to upload your video.

The theme for this week’s Tuesday Trainer is TOTAL BODY.

When I say “total body”, I mean, performing exercises that include multiple joint movements.  Your move does not have to work the ENTIRE body, but rather, it would work multiple body parts at once.

Here’s my example:  A Lunge to Two-Arm Dumbbell Press

Another example:  A Lunge with Shoulder Fly

A few guidelines:

  • Feel free to give tips on proper execution and technique.
  • DON’T include a number of reps or weight. I’ll do that part.
  • If your move isn’t correct, meaning improper form or instruction, I will not be able to feature it. Do your homework and get it right!!
  • On Tuesday, grab the Tuesday Trainer button, to provide your readers with an easy link to the workout! Simply copy the text in my side bar and paste it into your HTML code.

**DEADLINE for submitting moves is Monday night, the 31st, at 8pm EST.   So if you’re planning to go Halloweening, you should get them to me earlier!!  Again, go here to learn how to upload your video!***

Are you guys having fun with Tuesday Trainer? We’re EIGHT weeks in and I’ve still got LOTS of ideas for themes. But I want your feedback. Is it something you enjoy doing? Can I do something better? Are there ways to get your blog more attention? Let me know!! This is a CO-OP and I can’t do it without YOU!

splendid…lindsay

  1. You are one busy Mommy! I’m tired just reading about your to-do list :)
I’ve been busy studying the latest Body Combat release. I’ve been doing my normal gym workouts plus 2 hours of practice at night. My shoulders are sore and my abs hurt – but it’s a good thing! :)

  2. Oh my word, Clara! How crazy to think that her beautiful Bieber hair was nothing but fuzz just a year ago. When is her birthday? I can’t remember…

And I loved your life update, I read every word. And I’m so excited for next week’s TT. I’m filming it tomorrow!

    1. I know, right! Her bday is August 17th (mine is Aug. 3rd). So she was only 2 months there. She was born with alot of hair and it all fell out on top, then grew back.
Are you filming out in the snow? I hope!

  3. Full Body – FUN.
As for your “side note”, I said you looked pretty! & I meant it. I loved I could see you are naturally very attractive…& you looked very relaxed. Maybe I’m crazy, but I like the look you had going — sans hair brushing & all! ;)

  4. lists are awesome, but yours are the best! i get to see what you are up to. WIsh i could come see you in that play. so cool. And I hear ya on the battling the flesh. How is crazy love? Have you read HOW WE LOVE? I think we’re gonna pick that up and read it in NZ together. Love you oooooooodles friend.

oh and i teach TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING so this is an awesome TT!
    whhoop!

  5. I’m a new reader and I love your blog and your idea of Tuesday Trainer is awesome! Thanks for everyting you do. I’ve done 3 of the workouts in the TT section and I’m looking forward to many more workout ideas. Keep them coming.

    Thanks again!

  6. I definitely identify with what you said about getting to spend more time with God…there is always so much going on that it’s really tough to make time when I feel like it should be the first priority…but the truth is, He will use us in every situation He puts us in, and we have the opportunity to pray as we go…which is awesome! I would be so lost without Him…

I think Tuesday Trainer is fantastic…it keeps me motivated to work out, and I always look forward to Thursday’s theme, the weekend figuring out what exercise to do, and then seeing everyone’s moves on Tuesdays. It keeps things fresh and you get to gather up new ways of doing exercises that you hadn’t thought of before. Thanks so much for all your efforts in coordinating us together into a training team! :)

  7. I love the structure of this post…can you tell I’m seriously Type-A? :)

You have a ton going on! And yet you manage to look amazing doing it. I am so inspired.

  8. Lindsay- Love the catching up on your life. I’m with you on not being home enough and all the household duties. I always have to tell myself that as long asn my boys (all three) have clean clothes and are well fed and get quality family time, that’s what matters.
YOu’re amazing with all you do! I so wish I lived closer so I could run your race AND see your play! :)
Oh, and I feel guilty everyday for not devoting mroe time to God. Ugh. I’m so thankful for all he’s blessed us with.
PS- Love that Henry is was eating Chex mix with chopsticks. He’s got skill.
PPS- Love the theme for Tuesday Trainer. :)

  9. I just found you blog, and I love that you are such a good hard working mama! I can say I am super jealous you teach exercise classes! I’m a stay at home mom, and my hubby is gone alot so I always don’t get to get the best workout that I wish I could!
Look forward to reading more! :-)

  10. you’re a busy lady mama! can’t wait to hear all about the theatre production – I LOVE THEATRE! going to enter that Erin Baker giveaway now…

have a wondrous day friend! :)

  11. Battling our flesh…always! So true, Lindsay – every day is a battle, is a decision and choice, is a chance to choose God and not ourselves. Thanks for this reminder! Loved hearing about all the updates. Wish I could go see the play! I’d love to see you and Travis in action. ;)

And TOTAL BODY?! My absolute favorite ways to workout are with compound muscle movements, so I’m pumped for this and brain storming already. Much better than yoga to me, but hey – we all have our strengths and weaknesses; I’m pretty sure mine are clear. ;)

Love you friend! Thanks for your posts, cheerfulness, and sharing your life with us. And for the record, maybe my senses are off, but I thought you actually looked so natural and beautiful in that video! Truly!
