After an 8 mile run this morning, I was in NEED of some fuel. But I just didn’t WANT anything. This is what happens to me when I run long distances: for a few hours afterwards, the thought (and smell) of food makes me sick.
So I went against what any sports nutritionist would tell you and instead….listened to my body. My body said to “hold up, wait a minute”.
I took a shower, read blogged, did laundry and vacuumed (because I hadn’t done it since yesterday).
Then around 11:30, I started to feel it. The teeniest bit of hunger.
So again, I listened and did something about it.
Two somethings, actually.
First dish: French “Bagels”
We were out of bread for french toast. So I improvised and used the whole wheat bagels we had on hand. Into the egg wash went:
- 3 Eggs
- 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- Vanilla extract
- Pumpkin Pie Spice (for Fall)
This was goooood (5 o’s kind of good)! Topped it with natural peanut butter and raspberries (why do I always forget the p in raspberries?). I really liked the soft texture of the bagels…perhaps even better than bread??
Second dish: Oats In a Jar
Basically, my go-to breakfast (aside from an egg scramble). I don’t think I’ll ever tire of this one, so get used to seeing it.
- 1/3 c. oats
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 scoop Chocolate P.P.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice (again, for Fall)
I shared some of both with Travis. I’m a good wife. It’s not like he wouldn’t do the same. Hold up, wait a minute.
Properly fueled, we’re off to buy a grill. It was Travis’ Father’s Day present. I know, you’re asking yourself, “How could anyone not already own a grill?” And, “Wasn’t Father’s Day like a gazillion years ago?” To you, I would say, A. We’re cheap, and B. We waited for a good sale because we’re cheap.
Happy Saturday. It’s FALL! Use some dang Pumpkin Pie Spice!
P.S. Have you started working on your move for Tuesday Trainer yet??? Get to it!
